Charity Nature VIbezzz has received a grant funding, thanks to funds raised by players of People’s Postcode Lottery and awarded by Postcode Society Trust.
The funding will support us provide nature-focused activities (Forest School, environmental education, horticulture & nature conservation) for families & children from South London areas.
Activities include a child-led approach developing self-initiative, promoting independence & self-esteem & building social skills. Helping children from pre-school age to teenagers to adjust tooutdoor play & learning, working together in groups or individually. Whilst learning practical skills, knowledge of natural environments & how to protect.
Working with local families to improve green spaces both for local wildlife / nature & the local community, turning underused sites into vibrant community green spaces. Creating habitats such as ponds, wildlife hedges & wildflower meadows. We’re turning a forgotten garden into community hub where we shall run training inForest School, nature conservation, bushcraft, horticulture & more. Growing organic fruit & veg using permaculture methods that support biodiversity of the site.
Through this year funding we shall be running regular Saturday afternoon activities at Portobello Community Garden and developing the site with new feature.
