On Thursday 20th April nine Granton Primary School students joined us on a forest school activity at Eardley Rd Sidings Nature Reserve. The students first enjoyed a period of free play in the woodland followed by a tool workshop. The students first practiced whittling using potatoe peelers and carrots / softwood sticks and then moved onto whittling with knives on hard wood sticks. The students then used hammers to create a design on white cotton using leaves and flowers. Their hard work was put together to make their own flags.
One student stated “Forest School is the best thing ever, better than toys, better than Santa, better than Christmas, better than fire, the best thing ever”
