Nature Vibezzz insect hunt on Streatham Common with St Joseph’s College

On Thursday 19th May 40 students from St Joseph’s College STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Club joined Nature Vibezzz to do a insect survey. The activity was run on Streatham Common and involved the students hunting for insects in the woodland. The students used pooters to capture insects then identified them using insect identification charts and magnifying glasses.

The students found a variety of insects including spiders, spider mites, ants, ladybirds, flies and beetles. All the insects were released unharmed and safely back into their woodland habitat after the insect hunt activity was completed.
